MY STORY
Hi! My name is Graham and I run The Highland Hounds. I have two rescue dogs (turned explorers) called Sheeba and Boston. Sheeba is a Collie x Rottweiler and Boston is a Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Both my dogs came from a background of neglect and it fills me with joy to able to share my time outdoors with them!
I have been hillwalking/hiking for 5 years now! In that time I've completed 100+ Munros (almost all of which with my dogs), I've completed the West Highland Way and camped the entire distance with Sheeba and I've also climbed Gran Paradiso (the highest mountain in Italy), but unfortunately that was a dogless expedition.
These experiences have enabled me to gain a vast knowledge in the outdoors and more importantly how to enjoy it with dogs! My mission is to share these experiences with other dogs and give them a sense of adventure, or even just a break from being indoors. The time spent outside is hugely beneficial for your dog and I can guarantee that they will be brought home absolutely knackered!
What I can offer is - an experienced dog owner and handler working with your dogs to help improve both fitness and social skills. I have a certificate in Pet First Aid, I'm fully insured and I have undertaken the D.B.S. checks. I've also completed training in Torridon for Mixed Mountaineering as well as training in the Alps, so I can assure you that your dogs are in very safe hands!
I also own my own van for transporting dogs to and from your house. This van is equipped with four secure dog cages in the rear, each with a bed, air conditioning and a water bowl so your dog will be safe and secure when being taken to and from their adventures!
I look forward to exploring with your dogs!
